Un lungo messaggio su Instagram per salutare lo Shakhtar Donetsk e i suoi tifosi, che ne hanno applaudito le sue gesta fin dal suo arrivo nel club ucraino nel 2003, L’esterno croato, fresco di firma di contratto con il Cagliari, ha contribuito ad alzare ben 27 trofei fino allo scorso agosto, quando è stato fermato per un problema di doping. In rossoblù sarà disponibile dal 23 agosto prossimo. Il croato si è rivolto ai tifosi in inglese e in ucraino, mostrando grande felicità per quanto fatto in tanti anni di carriera

Not even in my dreams did I expect to be here today, having surpassed them all. Looking back on my last 15 years in the club, I am extremely proud what we have together achieved; all the trophies, medals and matches played but above all the relationships I have built with the club, its players, management and our fans. Leaving Ukraine has been one of the hardest moments in my life, as I have left behind me my home, my family and most importantly my heart!”
